Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long hiatus lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for time and space reasons, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to creating acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imaginary and real.
For me, painting is "freezing time" at that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes my paintings depict glimpses of walls also worn by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface.
The inexorable passage of time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable both by touch and to the naked eye.
