Acrylics on small pieces of paper on canvas (mixed media)
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small recycled paper pieces: everyday paper is transformed into art instead of ending up in the trash. In my latest works I focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have completed.
"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent the faces of women with features that evoke the most classic dolls and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, I am your doll and you can do with me whatever you want" with everything that lies behind it, up to, unfortunately, violence.

This work will be shipped unframed and without a stretcher as the piece will be sent in a tube. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions because the greater surface will be useful and necessary to stretch the canvas on a frame.
It is recommended to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise on a suitable and appropriate frame.
The images showing the work in indoor settings are for illustrative purposes only and the proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those indicated in the description.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long standstill lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I have resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to creating acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imaginary and real.
For me painting is "freezing time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "consumed, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are street views of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface.
Time, which passes inexorably, is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a beautiful experience with clay manipulation, I adore sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs perceivable both by touch and to the naked eye.
In this recent period, after several years in which my works were made from small pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and repeated grids with mathematical rigor that, seen up close, seem to form an abstract colorful painting but the more you move away the more a portrait emerges from the 768 painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce faces of women, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner's dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
