Description from the seller
BREITLING VINTAGE CHRONOGRAPH PANDA – VALJOUX 7734 – 17 JEWELS – MANUAL WIND – DATE – SWISS MADE – CIRCA 1970s
Magnificent manual-wind vintage Breitling chronograph, from the golden era of Swiss sports chronographs in the seventies.
This attractive specimen features a stainless steel cushion/tonneau case and a spectacular Panda dial, combining a silver soleil-finished background with two black counters of concentric decoration.
The dial incorporates applied indices, peripheral tachymeter scale, date at 6 o’clock, and a distinctive orange central chronograph hand that gives it a strong sporty character.
Inside it houses the prestigious Valjoux 7734, manual-wind mechanical movement with 17 jewels, approximately 45 hours of power reserve and a frequency of 18,000 alternations/hour. The movement of this specimen is signed BREITLING WATCH LTD.
Bi-compax configuration with small seconds at 9 o’clock and the chronograph 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. Date window at 6 o’clock.
Approximate measurements: case about 39 mm without crown; between lugs 18 mm. Exact measurements should be confirmed physically with the calibre.
The watch remains in an attractive vintage condition, showing scratches, marks, patina and wear typical of its age. The dial retains a magnificent overall presence, while the peripheral ring, hands and certain elements show visible aging, all documented in detail in the photographs.
Black 18 mm leather strap, apparently newer.
