Self-taught artist who had inspiration and found a way. That was the beginning of the creative journey, and this painting—where there are lemons by the window, a sunlight-bathed street somewhere in a Mediterranean land—is an echo of the summery ideas of which there are many. But this one shone particularly bright in the moment. The plants, the sea far away, and the deep blue stone walls like a calm escape.
