Art déco crystal perfume bottle with an 800 silver mount, Italian origin by Società Argenterie Posaterie (SIAP), 24 cm high, 13.5 cm wide, 5.5 cm deep, gross weight 1064 g, in excellent condition with only minor wear.
Description from the seller
Large Art Deco perfume bottle – cut crystal and 800 silver – SIAP, Italy
Elegant and imposing Italian Art Deco perfume bottle, dating presumably from the 1920s-1930s.
The bottle is made of thick colorless crystal/glass, entirely worked with a remarkable geometric decoration typifying Art Deco: broad faceted surfaces, blurred fan motifs and deep engraved lines forming a highly graphic composition.
It is topped by a superb matching faceted stopper, reproducing the same geometric decoration as the body of the bottle.
The collar mounting is in solid silver at 800‰ fineness, clearly bearing the hallmarks “800” and “SIAP”. SIAP corresponds to the Società Argenterie Posaterie, an important silversmithing manufactory established in Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy, already listed in the official directory of Italian goldsmiths and silversmiths of 1924. (Formerly Barbaris - Pietrasanta).
Very good overall condition, a micro chip on the tip of the stopper barely perceptible, as well as a microscopic one on the bottle almost invisible (see last photo).
