Gino Romiti (1881 – 1967) - Marina notturna

Painting by master Gino Romiti (Livorno, 1881 – 1967), renowned exponent of the Gruppo Labronico and pupil of Giovanni Fattori.
The painting depicts a seascape or lakeside view at dusk, characterized by an intimate, almost lyrical atmosphere, with a dense cliff and dark vegetation that stand out against the water’s surface illuminated by the day’s last reflections or by moonlight.
The signature, clearly visible in the lower right corner, confirms the artist’s authorship.
This type of landscapes with twilight tones and of derivation from the post-Macchiaioli and Divisionist schools represents the most sought-after and poetic core of his artistic production.
