Brown half-leather binding of L’Illustration – 2 volumes – Year 1929 – Complete
A famous weekly that marked the history of the French press.
Books in generally good condition. However, the leather bindings show fairly notable signs of wear as you can note in the photos (stains, rubbing, moisture marks)... The inside of the bindings is overall in good condition with some moisture marks on certain pages, without affecting readability or the beauty of this work.
Some plates are missing (the cardboard is present but without the illustration which is detached).
The special issues are present (Spring issue (Salon of Painting), The Death of Foch, The Death of Clemenceau, The issue on La Maison, The Automobile issue, The Christmas issue) without their covers.
Abundantly illustrated, including many colour illustrations. Unusually rich historical and documentary interest.
Many topics covered: Colony, Far East, China, Annam, Siam, Third Republic, Automobiles, Art, Aviation, Mussolini, Lateran Accord, Ruhr, Populism in Germany, Communism in the USSR, Discussion on the execution of the Versailles Treaty, Paris planning...
