Five circular Russian lacquered papier-mâché boxes, hand-painted and signed by Palekh and Kholuy masters, dating to 1970–1980, with red lacquer interiors; includes a Moscow 1980 Olympic commemorative box depicting a sailing scene with the five-ring logo.

Splendid and rare lot consisting of 5 antique circular Russian lacquer boxes, made of lacquered papier-mâché, entirely hand-painted and signed by the artists of the famous Palekh and Kholuy miniature schools.
This lot includes a piece of great collectible interest: a commemorative box for the Moscow 1980 Olympics depicting sailing boats with the five-ring Olympic logo.
All the boxes feature interiors lacquered in bright red, typical of the Russian tradition. Original era warranty certificates with factory stamps and the golden label/mark "Made in USSR" under the base are present.
