“Shattered Singularity” – A Tour de Force of Light and Structure
In his latest work in the series “Soft Geometry,” the artist Yannick Leniger presents a visual composition that makes the moment of extreme energy immediately tangible. “Shattered Singularity” captures the moment of a destructive impact that cuts through reality like a crack and transforms the center of the image into a dynamic void.
The piece captivates with its impressive tactility: through the precise Hot Glue Sculpting technique, a sculptural, relief-like surface emerges, breaking out of the two-dimensional nature of the canvas. The combination of oxidized copper tones, finest Schlagmetall (metal leaf), and a rough spray-paint aesthetic gives the 50x90 cm artwork incomparable depth.
A special highlight is the play with light: depending on the viewing angle and the incidence of light, the copper-colored pigments begin to shimmer and bring the work to life – it seems as if the metallic mesh beneath the surface is glowing.

2003, Yannick Leniger began with graffiti painting and gained experience during nocturnal actions in handling spray paints and the nature of various substrates.
2010, Yannick Leniger began creating his characteristic works from the flowering series, which enjoys great popularity. Through the combination with spray paints and acrylic, Yannick Leniger developed various techniques that produce unique effects in the works.
These mixed techniques are also found in Leniger’s current works. Influenced by artists such as Christiaan Lieverse and Pier Toffoletti, the current works depict people who are elaborated in conjunction with structure-giving means. In several steps, parts are masked, revised, and highlighted.
From 2019 to 2022, Yannick Leniger was a member and treasurer of Kunstforderer e.V. in Unna and supported the association in a variety of creative projects with children and adolescents, schools, and open all-day schools. Since 2023, Yannick Leniger has been the first chairman of Kunstforderer e.V. in Unna
