Title page of volume I in two colors (red and black) with a fine engravable vignette (phoenix on the pyre and motto Post fata resurgo); in volume I there is the figurated title page engraved by M. Beylbrouck.

Critical and commented text of Titus Livius’ Historiae ab Urbe condita (surviving works), with interpretations of obscure passages, select notes and the Supplements to the final books according to Arnold Drakenborch’s recension. Volume VI contains the Exercitationes rhetoricae in orationes T. Livii with the Animadversiones of Jean Le Clerc (Joannes Clericus), plus materials on the author’s patavinitas, life and eulogies.

Padua edition “postrema” of one of the most appreciated and widespread eighteenth-century reviews of Livy, based on the fundamental critical work of Drakenborch (major edition 1738–1746).

Portable format, clear printing by the Typographia del Seminario and complete in six volumes: a set sought after by collectors of Latin classics and of Italian eighteenth-century typography. Not common complete and in a homogeneous period binding.

Bindings in parchment with wear and stains of use to the spines and covers; rear boards a little later. Interiors generally good, with the usual browning and signs of time.
A reference work for the study of Livy in the Age of Enlightenment, in a complete edition and in a pleasant format.
