Description from the seller
Elegant Savonarola chair by Italian woodworking artisans in wood.
Made in the second half of the 20th century in Italy.
This is an elegant chair, model "Savonarola", foldable, like a book, in wood, made up of serpentine curved elements and cross-joined into an X, with backrest and armrests; with decorative forms entirely hand-carved.
The term Savonarola derives from the name Girolamo Savonarola (1452 - 1498), at whose time the chair of this type would still be preserved in his cell at the San Marco convent in Florence, where he lived from 1482 until his death.
OPEN DIMENSIONS
65 x 50 cm, height about 84 cm.
CLOSED DIMENSIONS
15 x 48 cm, height about 85 cm.
Weight about 8 kg.
In good condition, it shows signs due to use and time.
