Magnificent large lidded porcelain vase from Limoges, signed José Morgado, from Porcelaines d’Art José Morgado.
With an elegant baluster shape, this vase features a rich hand-painted polychrome floral decoration, composed of bouquets of flowers in finely ornate reserves. The decoration is enhanced by substantial gold gilding, with numerous ornamental motifs and relief details.
The piece presents a refined and spectacular aesthetic, in a classical and historicist style, evoking the great French decorative porcelains.
The piece bears a handwritten signature of José Morgado as well as an inscription referring to Porcelaines d’Art José Morgado – Limoges.
