Marylène Madou presents Birdy Galore Original, a 2023, unframed, original mixed‑media artwork by a Belgian Naïve Art artist, 80 x 80 cm (103 x 103 cm with frame), signed in the lower right and offered directly by the artist in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Marylène Madou is a Belgian artist (born 1993) whose work is tied to textile design. Her original drawings and paintings serve as the basis for her textile work. This piece is the original design for Birdy Galore. It is a mix of painting techniques: acrylic paint, gouache, acrylic paint markers on heavy, coarse-grained paper, atop a 1/1 original derived from digital techniques. It is a special work with a great deal of detail. It was signed in the lower right corner and is currently professionally framed. In the photo you also see the piece unframed while being held by the artist at a presentation. At the buyer’s request, the work can be framed and picked up, but it is offered unframed and shipped. Without frame the work measures 80 x 80 cm, with frame 103 x 103 cm.
Marylène Madou's practice combines traditional techniques with a contemporary artistic sensibility, and continually explores colors and classic textile motifs, such as flowers. She is affiliated with the Belgian Museum of Bokrijk, where she has her own 'artist residence'. This residence is a unique place in Belgium, and Marylène is frequently mentioned in press releases.
