Ramón Enrich (Igualada, Barcelona, 1968) is a Catalan painter and sculptor with a highly established international career.
He studied Fine Arts in Barcelona and completed his training with residencies in Germany and the United States. In 1988 he moved to Marfa (Texas), attracted by the work of Donald Judd and the surroundings of the Chinati Foundation. Subsequently he spent time in Los Angeles, where he met Ed Ruscha and worked with David Hockney, and in New York he was for a time an assistant to Julian Schnabel.
His painting is highly recognizable: geometric architectures, solitary buildings, pools, trees, large open spaces and urban landscapes, usually without human figures. He uses very clean perspectives, flat colors and a lighting that produces a silent, mysterious and almost surreal feeling. The Fundació Vila Casas describes him precisely as a landscape painter with enigmatic light and rural and industrial architectural elements.
