Pair of Large Hand-Painted Italian Majolica Wall Plates – Renaissance Noble Portraits – Ceramiche Maiorana, Faenza
A stunning pair of authentic vintage Italian ceramic wall plates (maiolica) crafted by the renowned artisan workshop Ceramiche Maiorana in Faenza, Italy—the historic center of Italian majolica production. Both plates are masterfully hand-painted, featuring Renaissance-inspired portraits of noble figures against richly detailed backgrounds, bordered by an intricate, repeating geometric pattern in deep brown and white.
Decorated with a bold, repeating geometric lattice pattern in deep brown and white that beautifully frames the central portrait.
Plate 1 (Noblewoman Profile):
Central Motif: Features a hand-painted profile portrait of a Renaissance noblewoman wearing an elaborate decorative headpiece and ornate garment, set against a vibrant turquoise-blue background flanked by classical architectural elements.
Dimensions: Diameter 310 mm, base 150 mm, height 35 mm.
