Photography Treasures for Collectors

This is an interesting and rare photograph by the well-known Hungarian/Swiss photographer Paul Almasy (1906-2003), depicting a Maya family visiting the famous Maya Culture Museum (The Museo de la Cultura Maya in Chetumal (Quintana Roo, Mexico) is one of the most important museums dedicated to the Maya civilization, best known for the large reproduction of the sacred Ceiba tree at the center of the building, which symbolizes Maya cosmology (hell, earth and sky).

It is a photograph of good size, 23.5 x 30 cm, and it is a truly very beautiful and meaningful image in Almasy's photographic oeuvre.

Trattasi di una interessante e rara fotografia del notissimo fotografo ungherese/svizzero Paul Almasy (1906-2003), rappresentante una famiglia Maya in visita al famoso museo di "Cultura Maya" (Il Museo de la Cultura Maya a  Chetumal (Quintana Roo, Messico) è uno dei musei più importanti dedicati alla civiltà maya, noto soprattutto per la grande riproduzione dell'albero sacro della Ceiba al centro della struttura, che simboleggia la cosmologia maya (inferno, terra e cielo).
Si tratta di una fotografia di buone dimensioni,  23,5 x 30cm, ed è un'immagine davvero molto bella e significativa della cultura fotografica di Almasy.
Debitamente timbrata al retro "Almasy", come tante sue immagini andate in asta, ed anche da una famosa rivista italiana dell'epoca che aveva pubblicato la fotografia nel settembre 1967.
La foto è in ottimo stato e garantita autentica.
