Portrait oil painting, original edition by a Dutch artist, titled Yep!, signed, dated 2025, measuring 68 by 60 cm, in excellent condition and shipped rolled for professional re-stretching by a framer, originating from the Netherlands and sold directly from the artist.
Description from the seller
Romy van Rijckevorsel (Drunen, 1967) is a Dutch artist, living and working in Vlijmen since 2002. After a long period as a portrait painter, she graduated in 2017 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk with a diploma in Painting. Since then she has worked as an independent artist. Her work is part of collections at home and abroad.
Van Rijckevorsel's oeuvre is infused with narrative: family history, memory and transmission form recurring themes, inspired by the oral storytelling tradition within her family. Where her work was initially predominantly figurative, in recent years there has been a steady shift toward a more abstract visual language.
Characteristic of her method is the absence of a pre-set concept: each work arises intuitively, without a defined end state. This open approach results in a visual language that is spontaneous, layered and sometimes deliberately unrestrained—a conscious choice that benefits the directness and expressiveness of the work.
Ready to hang: no, the painting is carefully rolled up and packed and must be re-stretched by your local framer. Shipping (very large formats) rolled paintings is safer and more environmentally friendly than shipping ready-made works.
