Centrepiece - Glass, Metal

Elegant vintage centerpiece in thick art glass, crafted in a sophisticated smoked amethyst tone and elevated on a chrome-finished metal base. An attractive Mid-Century design piece, probably made between the 1960s and 1970s.

The body features a spectacular organic, sculptural form, with the ends raised to form a wide, undulating silhouette. The thick rounded rim emphasizes the depth of the amethyst glass, which visually shifts between mauve, violet, and dark purple depending on the incidence of light.

Its design recalls the language developed by Italian and Scandinavian art glass in the mid-20th century, especially free-form, asymmetrical centerpieces associated with Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design. As there is no visible signature or label, it is prudently offered as an unidentified manufacture, with no specific attribution to Murano.

The combination of vintage art glass with the metal pedestal gives the piece an especially elegant and architectural presence. It can be used as a centerpiece, decorative fruit bowl, sculptural bowl, or simply as a collectible item.
