Linen woven towels from the CHOLET Manufacture in Brittany.
Decorated with colored lines (orange - blue - brown) - lines woven rather than printed.
The background is a solid color - warp threads dyed - 2 towels with pink background - 2 towels with light blue background - 2 towels with light yellow background.
On the edge - warp - at each end - machine-stitched hem with small stitches.
Each towel bears the AT CHOLET mark. This spinning mill is known for linen weaving - towels advertised as cotton canvas but given its quality perhaps linen.
The Cholet weaving has existed since the 11th century - it flourished from the 17th century - recognized for its high quality and premium know-how.
Specialized in tableware - they must have turned to producing children's clothing to continue their activity.
Length 67 cm - width 53 cm.
New - not used - starched - a few stains due to storage in a sideboard.
