Joseph Dirk Uittenbogaard (1916-2010) - Wilgen

Oil painting on canvas by the Dutch artist Joseph Dirk (Joop) Uittenbogaard (Rotterdam 1916 - Eindhoven 2010). Uittenbogaard was self-taught and drew and painted mainly landscapes and flowers.
Since his arrival in the province of Limburg around 1940 he was active as a painter in Mook.
Both in his paintings and watercolors the pristine landscape was strongly present.
He worked a lot with the artists Dorus Arts and Toon Heymans.
Uittenbogaard was also known as 'the last of the Plasmolense painters'.
He was the last remaining artist from the close-knit circle of artists De Plasmolense Kunstenaars, which also included Jacques van Mourik and Gerard Cox.
Joop Uittenbogaard has held many exhibitions in the Netherlands and there have also been exhibitions in Belgium, France and Germany.
This work is in excellent condition and signed by the artist at the bottom right.
The work is framed in an ornate matching frame.
