Jack Gage, Black & White, oil painting, Original edition, created in 2020 and after, 60 × 120 cm, signed, United States, Contemporary, nude subject.
Description from the seller
Jack Gage, born in 1946 in Boston, is an American artist whose work is distinguished by a highly personal approach to the human figure, blending geometric shapes, curved lines and strongly graphic compositions.
In this work, the artist depicts a woman in profile, whose silhouette is entirely constructed around an interplay of black and white geometric forms. The volumes of the face, hair, neck and body blend into this geometric pattern, creating an effect that is at once elegant, sculptural and contemporary.
The delicately highlighted red lips add a touch of sensuality and immediately draw the viewer’s attention. The posture of the head, the curves of the face and the feminine silhouette contrast with the rigor of the geometric forms, giving the whole a particularly successful balance between femininity and abstraction.
The luminous and intense turquoise-blue background further enhances the contrast with black and white and gives the work a remarkable decorative presence.
This composition perfectly illustrates Jack Gage’s universe, at the crossroads of contemporary figuration and Pop Art, where geometry becomes a true visual language.
With its vertical format of 60 × 120 cm, this work has a strong visual presence and makes a particularly striking decorative piece in a contemporary interior.
The artwork is signed by the artist in the lower left corner.
Dimensions: 60 × 120 cm.
A French-language biography of the artist is provided with the artwork.
