Original vintage print from around 1980 on Cibachrome Ilfochrome Classic paper by master printmaker Roland Dufau, from the photographer and journalist Mireille Vautier's personal archives.

This masterful low-angle work captures the iconic World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York, while a church steeple silhouette appears in shadow as a negative. The precision of the architectural lines, the deep saturation of blacks, and the striking contrast testify to the exceptional mastery of the Cibachrome process starting from color positives.

Mireille Vautier, educated at Sciences Po Paris and holder of a Master’s degree from Cornell University (USA), led numerous ethnographic and photographic missions for UNESCO. Her work has been distributed by major photo news agencies, including ANA. Her oeuvre has received support and recognition from prominent figures in international photography, including Joan Fontcuberta, Hasselblad Prize laureate (the photography equivalent of a Nobel Prize). Her reports and books have been published by prestigious publishers such as Actes Sud, Nathan, and Hazan.
