This is an antique Japanese censer, traditionally produced using the lost‑wax casting technique.
The lid features vertical long‑slot openwork, offering good air circulation for smoke. It is topped with a chrysanthemum‑patterned knob with finely detailed textures. Both sides of the body are decorated with high‑relief lion‑mask handles with vivid, imposing expressions. The surface is richly decorated with gold and silver inlaid floral motifs. Contrasting gold and silver form well‑defined, elaborate patterns with fine craftsmanship. Made of high‑grade bronze, the piece bears a deep, aged dark‑brown patina built up through decades of use and natural oxidation.
Suitable for burning coil and stick incense. It works both as a functional incense tool and a collectible antique display piece.
Condition: Minor dents and wear are visible in isolated areas. There are no cracks or repairs. The original aged patina remains intact, with small areas of verdigris and natural dust accumulation. Overall good vintage condition.
