The artist Lucia Mignosa, known as Luminisa,

during the classical studies that the 60s demanded, thanks to the imaginative teachings of a history of art professor, I came to know and fell in love with that world of beauty colored with which I have remained faithful and fascinated for life. But only later, finding by chance in my hands a creative magazine from the era, lived as a window into the artistic world, following their guidance, did I begin creating objects to admire, ranging from art, to fashion, to objets d’art, in the perpetual search and attempt to express with art enthusiasm and joy as an ode to life. The explosion of pleasure in creating, experimenting, and persistently seeking the maximum expression of beauty pushed me, despite family and work commitments and the difficulties that the 70s promised a woman, to attend the studios of well-known Sicilian masters of art from that era, to learn as much technique and experience as possible, without ever losing that single weekly appointment that made me drive 70 km to reach him. And it is by letting myself be inspired and carried by their excellence that I sharpen my views and perfect the technique, reaching my expressive splendor in Luminisa, a stage name, of a life dedicated to the playful world of cheerfulness, freshness and brightness that materializes in the extreme representation of games in water and bodies suspended in time in a playful preamble to cheerfulness. A sensitivity that today I express in painting, sculpture and engravings, which have a very precise task: to translate into broad visions of play and moments of meditation and ecstasy a meaningful reality that has always resided in me.. Strong, bright tones, apparatus of artistic gymnastics, rings in the water, promote the concept of my emotions, carriers of a playful, collaborative and artistic mood of my eternal serene temperament..

Selected for two consecutive years by the Luxemburg Art Prize for artistic merit (2024-2025),
Past works are part of the Arianna Sartori Collection and are included in the 2017 catalog Arte Moderna e Contemporanea by Anna Sartori and in the Museo delle Cappuccine in Bagnacavallo (Italy),
