Liège 1870-Sint-Gillis 1946. An Expressionist painter of interiors, seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, as well as religious and secular cycles. Lawyer. Trained at the Liège Academy (1894, E. Carpentier, A. de Witte). Travels through Europe, North Africa and the United States. Works in France, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. Works in our country in the Ardennes and on the Coast. Debuts as an impressionist but evolves into a personal expressionism with a very free brushwork. Settles in 1904 in Schaerbeek. Regularly participates in the Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent Salons. In the 1970s he was honored with a series of retrospectives in various cities across the country. Works in the Museums of Antwerp, Charleroi and Liège, Rouen and Lille.
