Antique ATEA telephone/line switch – Antwerp Telephone and Electrical Works – ca. 1909
A particularly early and authentic piece from the history of Belgian telephony and electrotechnology.
Old telephone/line switch manufactured by The Antwerp Telephone and Electrical Works (S.A.), the Antwerp-based company that later became known as ATEA.
The original metal identification plate states among other things “1172/1909” and No. 1399, making the object convincingly dateable to around 1909.
Mounted on a beautiful wooden mounting board with metal contacts, connections and a long mechanical switching lever. The construction is well visible at the rear.
Origin: Belgium
