Brutalist mid-century modern vintage table lamp (1950–1960) with glass and wood strands woven to a forged iron frame, 20 × 12 × 12.5 cm, weight 852 g, Belgian origin, in reasonable worn condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
vintage brutalist table lamp from the 60s or 70s.
These sculptural lamps are handmade and are often attributed to the style of Pia Manu or designers such as Tao Tesserine.
Material:
Thick, hand-cut strips of glass ranging from transparent to light green (often scrap glass).
Construction:
The glass elements and wooden twigs/sticks are woven to a sturdy iron frame with thin metal wire.
Feet:
The lamp rests on the characteristic metal globe feet at the bottom.
Light effect: Once the lamp is lit, the glass breaks the light in a unique way, creating a cozy and dynamic play of shadows on the walls.
General:
The lamp is in good and solid vintage condition with normal signs of aging and use.
Glass & Wood:
The layered glass work is almost completely free of major cracks. The woodwork is intact and has a beautiful authentic patina.
Construction (Important):
The lamp has in the past been expertly reinforced at several points with extra metal wire to keep the heavy glass construction stable and safe. This has been done functionally and is hardly noticeable due to the brutalist character of the lamp.
Electrical:
The wiring and socket are functional and the lamp is working (see photos).
Dimensions: 20x12x12.5 cm. Weight 852 grams
Carefully packed and insured for shipment.
