A quiet afternoon in a Parisian atelier, where the overcast light through tall French windows has softened everything it touches. A model sits on a vintage wooden trunk draped in dark fabric, wearing only a sheer floral peignoir falling loosely from her shoulders and a wide-brimmed straw hat with a soft pink ribbon. She holds her pose with the stillness of someone who understands that the photograph requires her patience, her gaze turned toward the window where the zinc rooftops and autumn trees of Paris stretch into the distance. Her expression carries the particular calm of a woman who has stopped performing and simply exists in the moment.
Opposite her, a barefoot photographer with auburn hair kneels behind a large format antique bellows camera, one hand adjusting the brass lens, entirely absorbed in composing the image. She does not speak. She does not direct.
