Description from the seller
Les Vanités is an original work and a unique piece created by the French visual artist Stéphanie Gabbay, also known by the pseudonym Steffartworker. Having practiced for five years, her plastic work ranges from large-format canvas painting (abstract expressionism, vanities, portraits with a strong pop art flair) to textile and urban supports (hand-painted customized clothing, sneakers, illustrations blending manga culture and street art). Les Vanités lies at the heart of this approach: a centerpiece created in 2015, at the crossroads of action painting and symbolic figuration.
It is an acrylic on linen canvas mounted on its original wooden frame in the 100P format, measuring 162 cm in height, 114 cm in width and about 2.5 cm in depth. The artwork is sold unframed and presents a rich and generous pictorial material, worked with brush as well as projections and dripping, with a pronounced relief resulting from the layering of paint.
The work is signed by the artist with red paint at the bottom right on the front face with the initials “SG” and the date “2015.” It is also signed with her full name “Stéphanie GABBAY,” titled “Les Vanités” and marked with her pseudonym “STEFFARTWORKER” prominently on the back of the frame.
Coming directly from the artist’s personal collection and studio, the canvas is in excellent overall condition and kept indoors. It will be delivered accompanied by an original certificate of authenticity drafted and handwritten by the artist. For shipping, the canvas will remain mounted on its frame (weight about 7 kg) and will benefit from reinforced protective packaging suitable for transporting artworks, sent via a carrier with tracking. On-site pickup is also possible.
