ATHENA — Contemporary Marble Intervention.

ATHENA is a contemporary reinterpretation of a classic resin bust, fusing the aesthetics of classical sculpture with elements of street art, Pop Art, and contemporary culture.

The piece combines the aesthetics of a classical bust with a bold chromatic intervention and contemporary graphic elements. The face and hair have been hand-painted using acrylic paint, oil pastels, and spray paint, creating intense contrasts and an expressive finish.

The torso incorporates prop banknotes, manually integrated onto the surface of the sculpture, contributing a visual dimension related to money, consumption, popular culture, and symbols of value in contemporary society. The turquoise drapery contrasts with pink and gold tones, creating a striking and recognizable aesthetic.

The base has also been intervened and hand-decorated, maintaining golden elements that reinforce the sculptural and classical character of the piece.

All of the artistic intervention has been done by the artist by hand. The only part not done by the artist is the original sculptural bust used as support.

This is a unique, original, and non-reproduced work, conceived as a contemporary sculptural piece within a personal investigation into color, classic icons, and current visual culture.
