Northwest Africa 17153 (NWA 17153) is a eucrite polymict breccia meteorite (Asteroid 4 Vesta fragment) weighing 57.61 g, originating from Northwest Africa – Sahara Desert, supplied with two certificates of authenticity and a transparent flow frame with specimen ID card.
Description from the seller
A stunning 57 gram end cut of Northwest Africa 17153 (NWA 17153), purchased directly from the main mass holder, Fabien Kuntz.
The specimen retains a fresh, well-preserved fusion crust, with several pronounced regmaglypts across its exterior. These characteristic thumbprint-like depressions were formed as the meteorite's surface was sculpted by intense ablation during its passage through Earth's atmosphere, giving the specimen a particularly attractive natural appearance.
The polished end reveals an interesting and heterogeneous chondritic matrix, with numerous distinct mineral and chondrule fragments visible throughout the interior. Particularly noteworthy is a small metallic iron-rich flake preserved within the matrix. Such metal grains are likely the remnants of the impactor parent's material and reflect the complex history of the body from which this fragment originated.
