In the image you can see several soldiers in a cold forest, walking with mattresses toward the trenches, trying to protect themselves from their enemies. The photo dates to 1944/1945, Belgium. Robert Capa, pseudonym of Endre Ernő Friedmann (Budapest, Hungary), October 22, 1913 – Thai Binh (Vietnam), May 25, 1954), was a Hungarian war photographer and photojournalist of the 20th century. He left Hungary at the age of 17. He traveled around the world in search of the best shots for his camera. This led him to Mexico, Italy, France, Japan, Indochina, Vietnam, Israel, England, or North Africa.
His first published photograph, taken in 1932, showed Leon Trotsky giving a lecture on the Russian Revolution. He obtained the shot despite the rally of the politician having cameras barred from entry.
