Raleigh - Tourist - Bicycle - 1979

For sale: a 1979 Raleigh Tourist men's bicycle (DL-1 model), manufactured in Nottingham, England. An original bicycle from the era in preserved condition, perfectly functional and not restored.

Technical features and components:

Frame: Men’s model (straight top tube), 58 cm height (measured along the seat tube). Entirely in original steel, including a closed chain case and wraparound mudguards. The original Raleigh logos and decals are clearly visible on the frame tube, the chain case, the mudguards, and the era-era bell.

Brakes: Original rod-brake system, perfectly working.

Gear system: 3-speed Sturmey-Archer rear hub with an internal gear mechanism (labeled with the year "79" on the hub body).

Saddle and accessories: Original leather saddle from the period, complete with the original rear tool bag.

Wheels: Steel rims, English size 28 x 1 1/2 (ISO 635).

Vehicle and wear components status:
The mechanics and gear are smooth. The paint and chrome show the beautiful original patina and normal signs of aging, with no structural damage or penetrating rust.

Usable parts wear conditions: The general wear state is excellent. Tires, brake pads, chain, and grips are in excellent condition and ready to use, evidence of the bike’s good preservation over the years.
