• Style: Contemporary, in which I use mixed media and organic matter that, when manipulated, takes on a tactile quality reminiscent of human epidermis. Bacchus is a contemporary reinterpretation of the mythological figure Bacchus, god of wine, ecstasy and release from norms. The work presents a frontal and monumental character, with a nude body and no classical idealization, asserting vulnerability and bodily diversity as symbols of authenticity and power.
The background, built through swirls of color and gestural brushstrokes, envelops the figure in an almost mystical atmosphere, evoking states of transformation, excess and transcendence. Cosmin Marian Guta (1994) is a Romanian contemporary artist whose work sits at the crossroads of figurative painting, mythology, and emotional exploration. His work stands out for its strong symbolic charge and an intense aesthetic, where the human figure becomes a vehicle for psychological and timeless narratives.
He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he completed his studies in 2020 with the highest grade. During his academic phase he broadened his artistic perspective through an Erasmus program in Barcelona, at EASD Llotja, a city that would later become a key point in his professional development. In Barcelona he also did internships at the RocíoSantaCruz gallery, an experience that reinforced his direct contact with the contemporary art circuit.
The artist's work is characterized by the use of mixed media on canvas, where oil, acrylic, ink, and pastel converge.
