"Where the Sea Meets the Night": Deep blues, azure and grays chase each other in a weave of shapes and fine lines. An abstract and imaginary landscape suspended at the moment when the sea seems to blend with the night.
PAOLO CONTIN has been developing his personal and continually evolving artistic path for over twenty-five years. Trained in design and active in the fashion world since 1980, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with presence in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.

Paolo Contin’s artistic journey is also documented by inclusion in the Mondadori Art Catalog with related quotations. Over the years his works have also been published in the Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo exhibitions and major Art Fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.

He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Veneto artists and active until the period of the Pandemic.

An eclectic and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, far from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor with expressive freedom. Lines, patches, geometric shapes and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he explores balance, movement and emotion.

Experimentation extends to sculpture and wood as well, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond the confines of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without pre-set formulas: every work is born from the will to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity.
