I create my works in an abstract style, exploring mark-making, brushwork, and blot. From a luminous and vital color palette. The brushstrokes, guided by a free and spontaneous gesture, emphasize an organic movement. Always mindful of the composition and balance of the work, as if it were a musical composition, with its rhythm, its tone, its pauses and its nuances. And thus to be able to listen to it with the eyes and feel it through emotion.

About the artist:
SUSU, Susana Soto, is a creator of visual and plastic arts. Born in Barcelona in 1972. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 1994. She participated in Vitra’s Summer Workshop at Boisbuchet, France, in cooperation with the Vitra Design Museum and the Centre Georges Pompidou.
She has worked for more than 15 years as a graphic designer, art director, and as a lecturer at art schools.
In 2015 she began the path of illustration. Since then she has worked as an illustrator for publishers and the advertising sector. And in 2022 she began her artistic journey in Barcelona, in a shared studio with other artists. She works with abstract painting and the portrait of women.
Throughout her career she has received several awards and recognitions, in both graphic design and illustration. She has also participated in collective art exhibitions in Barcelona.
