"What the wind left behind": Marks, matter and color cross a bright space, leaving traces, interruptions and suspended paths. As if after a sudden passage, something remains on the surface: the rest is entrusted to the gaze and to the imagination.

PAOLO CONTIN has, for over twenty-five years, developed a personal artistic path that is continuously evolving. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form and compositional balance.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 held his first solo show in Padua. Numerous exhibitions followed in Italy and abroad, with appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.

Paolo Contin’s artistic journey is also documented by his presence in the Mondadori Art Catalog with corresponding quotations. Over the years his works have also been published in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogues and volumes produced for solo shows and major Art Fairs, some of which were published with support from the Italian Cultural Institute.

He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association formed by ten Venetian artists and active until the Pandemic period.

Contin, an eclectic and independent artist, has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or tendency. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields, geometric shapes and intense color relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement and emotion.

Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: every work is born from the will to preserve freedom, identity and expressive authenticity.
