Fabio Imperiale’s original 2026 mixed-media portrait titled “scrivimi ancora,” created on a collage of antique postcards and other cut papers, hand-signed on the back, framed to 71 × 83 cm and weighing about 3 kg, a unique work.
Description from the seller
Title: write me again
Technique: coffee and tar on collage of vintage postcards and other cutouts from old papers
Unique work
Dimensions: 69 × 81 cm
Dimensions with frame: 71 × 83 cm
Year of realization: 2026
Signature: on the back
I provide Certificate of authenticity and ownership of the work
The work represents a half bust of a full female figure seen from the back, painted on a collage of antique postcards and other cutouts, such as musical scores or maps, which become an integral part of the composition.
The technique used fosters dialogue between image and memory, transforming the support into a visual archive of stories and suggestions.
The figure emerges with delicacy thanks to a sepia and natural earth palette, while the gathered hairstyle and the figure’s pose confer a sense of intimacy and suspension.
The only postcard visible on the illustrated side shows an illustration of the Matterhorn.
The balance between contemporary figuration and vintage materials, between classical and modern, is the result of a research that unites figuration and memory, designed for those who can appreciate not only the image but the value of detail and layering
( The work is placed in a handcrafted frame made by the artist, not professional, mainly serving as protection and which can be easily removed if one wants to have the work framed by a framer.
In case of purchase, after payment it is possible to add shipping insurance,
at an additional cost of 3% of the sale price )
Shipping with a courier specialized in transporting works of art.
The work can also be picked up at the artist's studio, in Rome.

BRIEF BIO
I have always drawn, since I was a child. I began painting in 2004, self-t taught.
In the early years I experimented with different techniques and themes.
The female figure has always been present in my painting research, even if over the years I worked on other series of works, especially urban landscapes and scenes of anonymous crowds or individuals.
In 2015 I approached old postal material as a support for my works: letters, postcards, maps, letters and manuscripts, and the woman returned to being the exclusive protagonist of my painting.
For many years I have collaborated with numerous galleries, I have held solo and group exhibitions and regularly participate in art fairs.
Since 2014 I have a painting studio in Rome, in Trastevere.
In 2021, following the Covid period, I conceived Marginalia, a project of home-made residencies in which I was hosted in a different house in each region of Italy, creating a painting in each residence. All the material produced was then exhibited in Milan in November 2023 in a large solo show at the Fondazione Matalon and in Rome in 2025 at WeGil.
