Wall lamp - Glass - Murano art glass

Vintage ceiling light or wall sconce in opaline Murano glass encased, dating from the 1970s. This specific model, characterized by a large central milk-white diffuser surrounded by a peripheral ring of smoked glass (referred to as a black edge or smoky gray border), is part of the famous Venetian Space Age lighting movement. The ceiling lamp/fixture can also be used on the wall or as a freestanding lamp. It features a distinctive circular structure in milk-white Murano glass with a transparent glass surround containing inclusions of black circles. Made in Italy in the Venini style, circa 1960–70. In excellent condition and in good working order. Accommodates two large E27 bulbs. Dimensions: Height 14 cm, diameter 37 cm. There is no manufacturer label, but by comparison with similar products it is certainly an artisanal piece crafted by the Murano glass masters. Similar models with this exact workmanship, such as “Rainbow” or “Saturno” in a flattened dome, were produced by historic art glass workshops and design brands of the era, including Venini, Vistosi, Zonca, or La Murrina.
