Dante Alighieri/Gustave Dore' - La Divina Commedia - 1906

Edition of the “Divina Commedia” by Dante Alighieri published in 1906 by Sonzogno, with the unmistakable and majestic illustrations by Gustave Doré. Inside, the work is in very good condition, with widespread browning of the paper, especially at the margins; text mostly clean and usable. In the Inferno, some margins repaired with white adhesive tape for small tears; a few pages (roughly 4/5) with edge wear – see photos. On the outside, the original red binding is preserved with the effigy of Dante, showing wear to the corners and edges and the boards, and some stains and losses – see photos as an integral part of the description. Fair condition. Rarity.
