Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora LidlLuxury" - Lidl - 7/20
When hard discount becomes a luxury icon.
Following the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Aurora Original Fake Counterfeit, Aurora Authentic Fake... AMA continues its ironic exploration of the codes of contemporary consumption with a new luminous creation, as disturbing as it is seductive.
"Aurora LidlLuxury" – LIVE POOR / BE RICH turns the popular discount imaginary into an object of desirable, chrome, luminous, almost sacred art. A stark black-on-wood contrast between social reality and the dream of wealth: LIVE POOR on one side, BE RICH on the other.
A simple, brutal, universal slogan.
By day: a chromed teddy bear drawn from the hard discount imaginary. By night: a multicolored aurora borealis resplendent across the space. A brutal contrast between consumer subjugation and the longing for luxury.
Edition limited to 20 pieces for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature required on delivery.

- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (fixed, faded transitions, simple transitions)
- Power via USB cord with switch (provided)

Who is Pope?
Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by visual arts practice since childhood, with a high standard of detail and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings, and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes, and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wondrous gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name a few.
Whether as a gift, a keepsake, or part of your personal contemporary art collection, you’ll easily find your favorite among our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his urban art passion through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited editions or not), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury brands and haute couture, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, and food & fashion industry products (sports, sneakers...).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope loves to mischievously divert labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to evaluate the lot for sale is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claims will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
