Oscar Leonor - Girasoles XXL

"Girasoles" is a work inspired by Van Gogh; the colors approach those he used, but the shapes are fluid, suggested. The unmistakable presence of the flowers and leaves with thick strokes we saw in his work has given way to a plant with invented, sketchy flowers. They resemble sunflowers, but in a distant way, as if the veil of history were present and revealed a certain nostalgia for the past.

Signed on the back. It is sold rolled up without a frame, including a certificate of authenticity.

The seller and his story:

Spanish figurative painter. Born in Segovia in 1976, self-taught draftsman and painter for years. He has been exhibiting his work in public venues and national and international art fairs since 2014.

His interests are very varied; he conceives painting as a tool for reconnecting with oneself. His creative process has evolved over time, experimentation and the search for new paths, methods and materials is the engine of his career, however it can be said that the deconstruction of form and the dialogue with the history of art have been two pillars that have remained and around which he finds the freedom to create and transmit.

This attitude has led him along different deroutings throughout his life, trying different formulas and genres such as still life, the representation of personal objects, drawing and painting the human body or symbolism and the narrative. His main desire is to develop a painting of a personal character that connects with him and in which humor is almost always present.
