Jara Marzulli
was born in Bari and graduated from the Bari Art High School and later from the Bari Academy of Fine Arts with top marks. Since 1998 she has participated in exhibitions and competitions, quickly receiving awards and important selections.

Her figurative realist painting style became immediately recognizable, and since 2004 international experiences in fairs, biennials, and important exhibitions began.

Her art grows and tells of a feeling that is both ecstatic and carnal, made even more piercing and moving by the technical perfection that distinguishes the artist. A lucid and wrenching expressive quality, an indefinable purity that dresses in painting, a constant play of displacements, of role reversals between the artist who paints and the depicted subject.

Numerous are the prestigious Biennials and art exhibitions where she has shown in Italy and abroad, such as Turkey, Art Taipei Fair, Taiwan, China at Red Elation Gallery, Hong Kong, MEAM Museum, Barcelona, Dublin, the Mainz Museum, Buenos Aires in Argentina, and London.

Jara Marzulli's figures have intense, direct, frontal gazes. They have the dignity of subjects ready to respond with great immediacy. The characters that occupy almost the entire space of the canvas manage to visually represent men, women, girls and boys who seem to recognize the observer as a stranger, sustain their gaze, repel him, and distance themselves to defend the silence of their precious inner world.
