An aspiring photographer in the 1960s, he collaborates with magazines of the era: Salut les copains, Top Realites and Jazz Magazine. UNITED PRESS trains him in daily press photography. The agencies REPORTERS ASSOCIES and then GAMMA open the doors to major reportage for him.  Covering Vietnam at 17, he becomes the youngest war correspondent in the history of photojournalism, and it is for LIFE in New York that he photographs the Woodstock generation and the last conflicts of the 1970s
