At the end of his military service in 1960, Daniel Cande, Leica in hand, toured the photographic agencies of Paris, his hometown. One morning he knocked on the door of the Apis agency; his first assignment was in the realm of show business, as it involved doing a Close-up on the filming of a movie. Afterwards there were many more.
