The artist was born in 1957 in Suhl. His technical foundations he acquired from 1980-1984 at the Leipzig Academy of Graphic Arts and Book Arts. He lives and works near Leipzig. In 2009 he was admitted as a self-taught artist to the Bund Bildender Künstler Leipzig, which he left again in 2021 due to the gendering of language there. The painter regularly exhibits in several smaller galleries in and around Leipzig, and often works as an Artist in Residence near Arta.
