This superb and elegant crystal vase from the prestigious Belgian crystal manufacturer Val Saint Lambert stands as a masterful glassmaking work of art, crafted in the 1950s under the technical direction of Charles Graffart. Repertoried under the highly sought-after Eleusis model, the piece instantly captivates the eye with its crystal body double-layered in ruby red or cranberry of remarkable intensity, sculpted according to a rich traditional geometric cut. The flared upper portion bears a spectacular motif of diamond points and deep lattices cut clear across the color, while the lower section features a central knot also cut with interlocking diamonds that confer a superb architectural structure and incomparable prismatic reflections to the silhouette. The reverse of its base carries the official signature engraved at the point of a diamond, flanked by the letter M, guaranteeing that this piece was entirely crafted by the hand of a master cutter of the manufactory. Displaying a balanced weight of 1200 grams, which provides excellent stability, this art vase stands 26 centimeters tall with a top neck diameter of 11 centimeters, resting on a circular pedestal of clear crystal.
