Vintage Ecuadorian 900 silver ashtray, handmade with a hammered central surface, a broad wavy rim with fine engraving, and four solid silver charms depicting a llama and three Indigenous Andean figures; dimensions 8 × 8 × 1 cm, weight 25 g, dating from circa 1950s and marked with Ecuador 900.

Ecuadorian 900 Silver Ashtray – Andes Culture with Llama & Indigenous Figures (circa 1950)
A beautifully detailed vintage silver ashtray made from high-quality South American silver (900/1000), fully handcrafted in Ecuador.
The central part of the ashtray features a stunning hammered surface, a testament to pure craftsmanship and traditional smithing techniques. The broad, gracefully undulating rim is decorated with fine engraving and at the corners are four exquisitely detailed, solid silver appliques (charms) depicting life in the Andean mountains.
The iconic corner ornaments display:
* A detailed llama (or alpaca), the traditional pack animal of the Andes.
* Three unique Indigenous Andean figures in traditional attire, complete with poncho and the distinctive round felt hats.
The ashtray is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina that highlights the depth and detail of the silver figures. On the underside the piece is clearly marked with origin and assay stamps: "ECUADOR 900" and a mastermark.
