Le Yack - Now, Voyager - Hand signed

On the teak deck of a transatlantic liner splitting a sea of deep blue, a woman with artfully waved hair from the 1930s, in a long white satin backless dress with a slit, turns toward the viewer, the fabric billowing in the wind. Behind her, the red-and-black banded smokestack, the deck chairs, a coil of rope, the frothy wake, and seagulls circling in the summer sky. Semiotically, the scene embodies the glamour of great crossings in the interwar period: the flowing dress in the wind, the mythical liner, the movement toward elsewhere. The satin white of the dress concentrates light on the blues of the sea and sky. A smooth, polished finish, with meticulous spray and wake, an Art Deco illustration spirit.

Le Yack, a French emerging pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the School of Art and Design (ESAD) of Orléans. He is a creative director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited within a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
