Stool - Wood - Indian Stool/Plant Stand

A characterful carved hardwood corner stool or plant stand, dating to circa the 1950s and likely of Indian or South Asian origin. Designed with a practical quarter-circle top and base, the central support takes the wonderfully sculptural form of a standing elephant with inset pale tusks, material untested. Measuring approximately 36 cm in height, it is ideal for displaying a plant, sculpture or decorative object. The stool remains sturdy and displays attractive age-related wear, surface marks, fading and patination consistent with its vintage character.
